Because marketers work best
when they have a great soundtrack.
This month, I gave myself a “joy assignment” of sorts—to dance along or sing to one song I love per day. I found myself gravitating toward the songs I listened to from 2004-2010—when I was discovering what kind of music I loved—and what about it I loved.
Apparently, the music journalism world calls this music “Indie Sleaze”—a fashion and music aesthetic that emerged in the mid-to-late 2000, characterized by a messy, carefree, and hedonistic vibe.
Otherwise known as my mid-to-late 20s. Nostalgia at its finest. I hope you enjoy—I know I have.
